Air pollution alarming in Malaysia

Earth naturally accept the burden of air pollution from natural phenomena such as volcanic eruptions, forest fires due to lightning and the lightning. However, the Earth has a "natural methods" in dealing with this natural pollution. When people began to carry out daily activities and industrial activities, environmental pollution is more widespread and the Earth could no longer 'bear' the burden of the pollution.

Malaysia's economic growth depends on the manufacturing industries, especially electronics, chemicals and rubber. However, the increasing rate of production has resulted in an increase in emission of organic and inorganic gases, chemicals and dust. A wide range of industries producing different pollutants. For example, the chemical industry releases pollutants that contain a variety of compounds based on nitrogen and sulfur, while the oil refinery smoke containing sulfur dioxide and hydrocarbons. Metal industry is responsible for polluting the air with sulfur dioxide and toxic dust. Some pollutants, especially carbon dioxide is a greenhouse gas that is harmful can cause climate change worldwide.

In addition to the release of toxic substances into the air, the development of the premises or an industrial zone without careful planning and control will result in noise pollution and vibration. Activities at construction sites and sounds of the exhaust fan in the factories are among the examples of activities that generate high noise levels.

Modern society relies heavily on transportation vehicles such as cars, trucks and trains. Each movement of a motor vehicle using a lot of energy and almost all produced by burning fossil fuels, which produce smoke and noise of an adverse effect on local circumstances. Ambient air quality depends on the type of transport used, type of energy source, the level of engine technology and the amount of energy required. In the transport sector, the motor vehicle is a major contributor to air pollution. Use of public transport will reduce the impact of pollution on the environment. In 2004, 14 million registered vehicles in Malaysia, this figure is two times more than a decade ago. These numbers will continue to increase from year to year with increasing income, rural-urban transfers and lack of efficient public transport facilities.

Burning of old trees in the plantation replanting for many soot particles. These soot particles can be blown over long distances by the wind and this is a frequent cause of haze menyelubunyi Malaysian airspace. The fire from the burning not only produces smoke that pollute, but it also destroys all the fauna and flora in the vicinity
